I tried to get Airtel Live (GPRS) service activated on my HTC Touch handset but they (Airtel) informed me that my handset did not support automatic settings. My HTC Touch handset's Network-Wizard already bears Airtel GPRS Configuration. The service executive could not explain why GPRS is not started despite the configuration is already fed in by the handset producer or why the settings (if different from the already configured) cann't be conveyed for manual configuration. Going not in deep arguments, I got Airtel GPRS (Airtel Live) activated on my another handset 6111 (mob. no. +919897701150) and tried to open www.gmail.com so as to log-in my mail account The site could not be opened. Contacting again to their service executives and following their instructions, too, could not solve the problem. Is there anybody in the Company (Airtel, UP West, India) who really cares the customers?
Waiting for an early response. V P Singh (vpsingh1799@gmail.com Last edited by Ved Pal Singh; 05-Oct-2008 at 05:30 PM. Reason: Spelling mistake in typing |

Dear Taruntanu, I tried on my NOKIA6111, http//m.gmail.com , it searched the site gmail.com. When clicked on, it notified SECURED CONNECTION NOT AVAILABLE.
On my HTC Touch, going > start (shows menu in my set HTC Touch P3452)> settings> Tab Connections>select GPRS Setting>only shows two options PAP or CHAP authentication and nothing further. If I go > start>settings>tab connections>selectNetwork Wizard > select country India and operator Airtel> select next> it starts processing for self configuring the Airtel GPRS settings and finally shows the configuration completed. But if tried to connect through internet explores it notifies tha the remote party has closed the connection. Moreover I could not understand the term .gif file. |

First ensure to Airtel CC that Gprs/Nop is activated on ur mobile number.
There is an application under connections, that will pull up all the required info from the service provider and create necessary access point ........... ON ITS OWN! 1 start-settings-connections-network wizard. 2 Select country. 3 Select Operator. 4 Hit OK. 5 start-settings-connections-manage existing connections. 6 you will find your respective access point created by ISP. 7 Select access point that you want to be used as default connection. 8 Hit OK. |
