Well on one side network congestion reduces speed or else these ppl limit the speed by themselves frm their side I guess in case of Tata Photon.

Dude you are wrong here. I meant the speed is only reduced from 3.1 Mbps to 256 Kbps after you consume the 10 GB download limit. After this 10 GB again u r gonna get unlimited data transfer but at reduced speed which definitely makes it a unlimited plan

That would be throttling which again is a NO NO.

I understand what you want to say but, that's not fair.

Upto 3.1 Mbps Unlimited Connection should be Upto 3.1 Mbps Unlimited Connection and NOT 3.1 Mbps till 10 GB and then 256 Kbps.

Well I felt something is better than nothing. When they dint give even that minimum 256 Kbps after 10 GB thr is no use of thinking about getting upto 3.1 Mbps for that plan. But stil as gabu said they have removed the word unlimited plan from their website no use arguing now

I understand why you suggested throttling but, even then they wouldn't be 3.1 Mbps Unlimited Plans. Good that Reliance changed it now

Forget 3.1 Mbps guys ..!!! Once GSM 3G auction is done, technically speeds upto 7.2 Mbps is possible, But I wonder what the tariffs would be then..........???

7.2mbps is max theoretical speed with ideal network conditions.
which is rare in choked Indian networks.

That's one point.

The other is that most 3G Mobile Handsets support only upto 3.6 Mbps of 3G Speeds. So, 7.2 is NO WHERE NEAR

By the time they would have network ready ... handsets + data cards will be readily available.
Telecom Nz already has this 7.2 mbps network. And they must be having handsets to support this.

Getting handset support for 7.2 Mbps is no big deal TGF. Getting the network ready witout congestion is d only biggest task in hand. As for handset it wont take more than a month for nokia and sony ericsson to design a device which is capable of handling 7.2 Mbps

Well no need to look out for handsets always, the providers themselves provide data cards or usb stick.. etc.... { HOPE SO THEY ARE AFFORDABLE }..
But the matter of network congestion is true, especially in GSM its less reliable than CDMA for data comm...!!! More over even in the most reliable CDMA we won't get proper 3.2 Mbps ..
So I doubt such great speeds on GSM, But its possible .. unless we have quality network and good resource management by our operators....!!!!...

Data cards and usb sticks are a pain in our purse vatsa, on one side they r too costly & on the other side they r not mobile like using a cellphone. So if v get handsets for such speeds I guess the cost of the device is justified besides being portable too
