Presenting the Corporation Bank Travel Card that allows you to transact in local currency anywhere
in the world. Be it business or leisure; enjoy your move around the world. Let nothing hold you back. CorpBank has been an aggressive player in the Cards Industry offering a wide bouquet of card products like International Debit Card, International Credit Card, Gold Debit Card and Campus Card. Now, CorpBank has introduced Prepaid Travel Card through which you can transact in local currency while travelling abroad. What is a Travel Card? Travel Card is a pre-funded (prepaid) card which is purchased in a foreign currency. This is similar to a traveller’s cheque. The card is not linked to any bank account. The main benefits of travel card are - • Convenience-The cardholder will have the convenience of executing transactions in local currency. • Flexibility-The travel cardholder will have access to millions of ATMs 24X7. • Security-The card is not linked to any bank account. • Support-The cardholder will have 24X7 call centre support and can view his card details online as well. The card will be issued in US Dollars presently. The card cannot be used for transactions in India, Nepal and Bhutan. Features 1 Type of Card: The cards will be VISA Flag magnetic stripe cards, which is widely accepted round the world. 2 Choice of Currency: Presently the card will be loaded with US Dollars. 3 Distribution Points: The Card can be purchased from select Forex designated branches of CorpBank. 4 Upper and lower limits for loading: The minimum-loading amount shall be US-$200 and maximum US $9,000 at any single instance. The maximum amount that can be loaded to a travel card is US $10,000 per year. (It is the FEMA limit for non-business travellers per annum). For business travellers, the FEMA limit is US $25000 per annum, and multiple cards can be issued with each card load amount not exceeding US $10,000per annum). The card can be loaded in multiples of $50 only, subject to the limits mentioned above. The responsibility for complying with FEMA / RBI guidelines on Forex Limits rests with the cardholder. 5 Reloading of Card: Reloading of the card can be carried out at any designated forex branches selling travel cards of the Bank by the cardholder or by his authorized representative by submitting a request form. 6 Access Points for the card: The card can be used at all VISA ATMs for cash withdrawal (cash can be withdrawn in local currency) and at all VISA Merchant Establishments for making payments in local currency. 7 Redemption of unused balance: The balance amount in the card can be refunded at any of the designated branches of the Bank. The card and copy of the passport are to be submitted along with the request for refund. Refund will be made at the exchange rate prevailing on the day of refund. Immediate refund will be effected and a refund certificate will be provided to the cardholder on request. 8 Internet access: The customer will be provided with the facility for accessing his pre-paid account through Internet banking. Cardholders will have to do a onetime registration by visiting www.myaccount.chase.com using their card number and PIN. During the registration, cardholder can select a unique User ID and password. Once registered cardholders can access their account by using their self selected User ID and password or card number and PIN. Documentation Required 1.) Purchase of Card: The documentation and eligibility for the purchase of a travel card is exactly similar to purchasing a Traveller’s Cheque. You need to fill in an application form at the time of purchasing the pre-paid card to comply with “Know Your Customer” directive of the Reserve Bank of India. The documents required to be submitted along with the application form are: • A copy of Valid Passport • A copy of Valid Visa • A copy of Confirmed Air Ticket • Completed Form A2 • PAN/Form 60 (in case there is no PAN) 2. Reload Documentation: The same documentation is required in case of a reload request if the customer is travelling again with the same card. Reload can be applied for in person or through an authorized representative. Last edited by Gabu; 06-Oct-2009 at 02:43 PM. |
