Sir,
I Devesh Seth customer of Bsnl Mobile from last 6-7 years has faced with misguidance due to advertisements published by “BSNL Bihar” on various kinds of media such as renowned newspapers , Bsnl Bihar official website and SMs. I Top uped’ my mobile on 10th Jan,2010 bearing no. XXXXX63159 with the denomination of Rs.200. As per the speculation and advertised I should be getting 20% extra talk time which comes to extra of Rs.40 ,but I am afraid to say that I have not got the extra Rs.40 talk time, moreover I got the simple Rs.200 top up that gives talk time around Rs.180 after the deduction of service tax.
When I called up Customer care they try to enlighten me and convince me regarding the above issues saying “Sir you have to give 200 + service tax which means minimum of Rs.221 then I l get the benefit of the above offer. I feel very sorry to say none of the stuff said by your executive was parallel to which was published in the advertisement. I am giving a detail what is published on BSNL bihar official website “20% Extra Talk Time in Top Up in denomination of 200 & more than 200


BSNL Bihar Circle has launched a promotional scheme in Top-Up in which 20 % extra talk
Time will be given in Top –up Voucher in denomination Rs 200 and more than 200.

This scheme is valid for 10 days from 03.01.2010 to 12.01.2010 in Bihar Telecom Circle”

AS you can see I am unable to find anything in the context of service tax, neither “Service Tax” is mentioned in the advertisement. Secondly when it comes to service tax, customer doesn’t gives service tax , it’s the telecom company who deducts from the denomination which has been opted . For example if a customer wants to recharge with Rs.10 he will get the talk time after the deduction of service tax , in comparatively customer do not have to calculate each and every time the service tax i.e 10.30% and give to the retailer. Unlike the other operators Full Talk time such as Rs.55 , Rs.111 means customer gets full talktime of Rs.55 and Rs.111 respectively. So I think next time I should be carrying a calculator whenever I need to recharge as such I have to calculate and give to the retailer.
I would like to please have a look on the issues and enlighten me with your Co. Policy.
