Aircel Just announced last month, that it will be Launching its APP STORE by the March-end
and here Bharti Airtel decided to Launch its APP STORE on February 10 with over 1,200 applications and become d 1st Indian Telco to launch it & bcome cometitor of Apple

Apple Launched its APP STORE in 2008 , and its apps divided into 1,00,000 categories such as games, business, news, sports and health have seen over 3 billion downloads.
BlackBerry Launched its APP STORE few months ago & already has over 4,000 apps.
Google’s Android has more than 20,000 apps

Coming back to Airtel APP STORE...
Many of the apps would be available for free, customers must pay between Rs 5 to Rs 25 for remaining apps, & some apps for Re 1 Per Day.

For Pre-Paid customers, the cost of the apps will be deducted from the talktime,
and For Post-Paid , it will be included in the bill .

Here r Some of Airtel’s apps
Qibla (which uses the greater circle method to calculate the direction from anywhere on the globe to the holy city of Mecca),
NetQin Mobile (an Anti-virus safeguard)
RockeTalk (mobile messenger & community providing free voice, video & photo chat, audio & picture Profiles along with chat on MSN, Yahoo, GTalk and AOL and games, emoticons, email, Contests and more),
CATGURU (a CAT preparatory app from Pearson Education)

Other apps include Britannica Trivia Challenge, Green Charging ( notifies the user with alarm sound when battery is fully charged ) , Wattpad ( the world’s most popular ebook community which gives users access to 200,000 plus novels, fan fiction, short stories, poetry ) and Sanjeev Kapoor’s Temptations (a collection of exotic recipes laid out step-by-step and in a local language).
SMS Directory 2.0 (an application which saves the user the trouble of remembering formats and those difficult-to-remember numbers which are required to query for popular services and information such as your flight details, cross check your railway booking or even find out insurance details ) , Qeep (brings instant messaging, photo blogging, live gaming and the unique sound attack straight to your mobile), Qik (allows the user to share live video from your mobile phone with friends on the go) and Snaptu (a fast stylish suite of social networking and lifestyle services including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, News from all major providers, Accuweather, Sports (cricket, soccer), Movies and Sudoku).

Nokia has one already along with apple. Now airtel starts one and reliance is gonna start one. Ultimately users are spoilt with choice

Add even aircel to ur list . Disadvantage of others in India Even if users want to buy a specific app , majority doesnt have internet banking/ paypal... But advantage of these telcos users can purchase it only by using ther mobile sim.

If ur Not able to find it just SMS app to 54321 and airtel will send u the Link.

Ther r also FREE APPS which r free to download
Ther r also few Apps available for Daily Rental or Weekly or even Monthly Rental.if at any time u want to unsubscribe then u can do it from " My Purchases " on Airtel Live or call 121 if ur not able to do it.

And others r One-time charge applications

Note - If ur a prepaid user the money will be deducted from balance Or
If ur a postpaid user it will be added to ur mobile bill .
