NEW DELHI: The department of telecom (DoT) on Friday issued a terse communiqué to new telecom company S Tel, a joint venture between Chennai-based
Siva Group and Bahrain Telecom (Batelco), directing it to immediately stop its mobile services in the circles of Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Orissa, citing national security concerns.

S Tel holds licences for six circles, but so far has launched services only in these three circles and has a little over 800,000 customers.

Top executives with the mobile firm expressed shock about the DoT directive and said that the telco launched services only after getting all requisite permission from the government through DoT letters dated 11 December, 2009 and 21 December 2009.

if their was security hole then why they granted STel's operation .
will DOT give any compensation to STel if they stop their service??

this is all because of telecom minister raja and karunanidhi, he should have requested for some amount from stel which is chennai based firm ,and stel have refused it so raja is now doing all his cunning works by scarring stel through dot,once license is gvn every thing is over,and the telecom company shouldn't be treated like come on india let us ask right and let us ignore DMK and its MEMBERS FROM INDIA SO THAT INDIA WILL BE KEPT FREE FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION, AND A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE IN.

I wonder why Dot gave stel permission and ask it to stop ops all together one day.

Ofcourse something has happened in the background and may come to limelight someday. But Stel's service was not stopped right inspite of DOT asking it to stop? Hw can that happen? Even that is confusing

brother politics should be mixed with business cozy in India telecommunication business is the hottest business and more money matters, so that why stel is being given pressure to stop the operations and all is because of dmk and telecoms minister raja ,dmk is not the good party for India cozy they have already done major destruction to india and tamilnadu people all because of karunanidhi ,firstly he changed the dmk party as his family members asset which is initiated by the maestro Dr,Anna Durai ,former cm of tamilnadu,and also because of him the well operated aircel got saled to Malaysian firm which is a person owned by friend of kanimozhi's husband's friend(daughter of karunanidhi's second wife)and this is not only the eg, there are lot of things ,so brother we should mix politics with this stel issue,wake up india let us stop this illegal policy followed by this cunning dmk group ,and save india from destruction

^^^^^Whatever politics is dirty right frm state politics to central politics! For this particular issue u can blame them, but there are still worser issues in our country other than this. Whom are u gonna blame for all those? instead of blaming others and wondering hw much money got transferred illegally as bribe try to bring changes by urself in ur locality in some way. If every citizen does this india wil go a long way in the next decade.
